This numbness seems to grow when you’re around
It lingers behind corners
Creeps up from my toes
You used to love me deep
Now I sit in closets
Wiping tears from my eyes
Your presence warmed my heart
Moved me to walk away from all others
Now I feel trapped
It’s your embrace I want to escape
This numbness has taken over me
Clouded my judgement
Made it hard to love
To care
To reach out
You hardly even notice
Because it’s always about you
You never stop to wonder
If it’s all because of you
That my heart has frozen over
An arctic inside
The numbness has taken over
Watch me slowly die
